In short
- Checks five areas of your website: SEO, speed and mobile, conversion and trust, catalogue and product pages, tracking and ads readiness.
- Adds a brand audit too: identity, social presence, reviews and retention.
- Every gap is ranked by how many points it costs, so you know what to fix first.
- Takes about a minute, needs no login and no app install.
What the audit checks
| Area | What we look at |
|---|---|
| Website and SEO | Page titles, meta descriptions, headings, sitemap, robots rules, canonical tags, structured data |
| Speed and mobile | Mobile page speed, page weight, images, scripts slowing the store |
| Conversion and trust | Policies, contact details, reviews, delivery and returns information, checkout signals |
| Catalogue and product pages | Product count, photos per product, description quality, prices, stock |
| Tracking and ads readiness | Meta Pixel, Google Analytics 4 and other tags you need before running ads |
The same scan runs a brand audit too, covering your story, social profiles, reviews and retention tools. See the brand audit for what that covers.
How the score works
Each area is scored out of 100 from checks we can measure on your public store. Areas are weighted by how much they affect sales, then combined into one score. Anything we cannot measure is marked as unknown rather than guessed.
The report then lists your gaps in order of the points they cost. A missing Meta Pixel or an unreadable product page costs more than a missing alt tag, so it comes first.
The fixes that matter most on Shopify
- Tracking before ads. Without the Meta Pixel and GA4, ad platforms cannot learn who buys, and every rupee works harder than it should.
- Product pages that answer questions. Several photos, sizes or ingredients, delivery dates, returns and reviews on the page.
- Mobile speed. Remove apps you no longer use; each one can add scripts to every page.
- Titles and descriptions. Unique, specific titles for products and collections help Google and shoppers.
- Trust. Clear contact details, policies and a real brand story.

What happens after the audit
You can save the report to a free dashboard, or ask our team to send you the report and a 30-day plan. If you choose a MarketMind package, the agent fixes what can be fixed automatically on Shopify (SEO titles, descriptions and image alt text), re-audits the store on a schedule and shows the score climbing in your dashboard.

Questions founders ask
Is the Shopify store audit really free?
Yes. Paste your store's link and you get the full score and gap list for free, with no login and no app to install.
Do I need to install a Shopify app?
No. The audit reads your public store the way a shopper or search engine would. The Shopify app is only needed later if you want MarketMind to apply fixes for you.
Does it work on WooCommerce or other stores?
Yes. It works on most public online stores. Some checks, like reading the product catalogue, go deeper on Shopify and WooCommerce.
How long does the audit take?
About a minute. Most of that time is spent measuring mobile speed and reading your product pages.
Will the audit change anything on my store?
No. It only reads public pages. Nothing changes unless you later connect your store and approve fixes.
